Dear Readers

An eventful second quarter is now behind us and a truly exciting half-year lies ahead for TRACTO, because it is a BAUMA-year. In October, the world’s largest construction machinery trade fair opens its doors and once again, we will be there. The preparations are currently in full swing and we will be showing many new and innovative products, but we will also give you,
dear readers, the opportunity to see the tried and tested TRACTO machines. Also, we have come up with something special for drilling rig operators – but you can find out more about this in the BAUMA special edition of the TRACTO INSIDER.

A thousand house connections with GRUNDOMAT

GRUNDOMAT – ideal for producing house connections trenchless – either individually or in series – as for example in the Bolivian city of Cochabamba. There, the soil displacement hammer helped renew the ailing municipal drinking water network on behalf of the municipal utility company SEMAPA. The company Sur Energy S.R.L. & Asociados installed around 1,000 new house connections in the densely built city centre and therefore decisively improved the drinking water supply for all the residents.

Comparison HDD method vs. Open-Trench

Numerous comparative studies, for example by the German Society for Trenchless Technology (GSTT),
have shown that installing pipes with the open trench method has significantly more negative impact
on the environment and climate than trenchless constructions with the HDD method.

Trenchless
HDD-Technology secures supply to Fürth

When old things get worn out, one question always arises: rebuild or forge new paths? This was also the case with the Fürth harbour bridge on the Main-Danube-Canal. When it was 50 years old, a decision had to be made to either renovate or demolish it. But, in the meantime, what should happen to the service lines for electricity and telecommunications, with the bridge acting as a necessary support for these lines. A clear case for trenchless HDD technology!

Rammer saves infrastructure project

When things don’t go according to plan at a jobsite, quick action is required. Trenchless technology is primarily used for underground pipe installations while protecting the surface above. But also, when pipes, which have already been installed, need to be removed again – for example due to damage – the pipe rammer then becomes the drillers best friend. Especially when it is immediately available.
